Frequently asked questions about our Cambridge photography tours
Three formats. iPhone Photography Tour: the 80% of your iPhone camera you have not found yet, from £160 for 60 to 90 minutes. Photo Tuition Walk: composition, light, exposure and edits on your own camera or phone, from £160 for 60 to 90 minutes. Combined Highlights (Essential) + Photo Walk: the Essential Highlights tour plus documentary photography of your group along the way, gallery delivered within seven days, from £200 for 60 to 90 minutes.
No. A smartphone is fine. We offer a dedicated iPhone Photography Tour, and the Photo Tuition Walk runs with whatever camera you bring. Your guide is a working professional photographer and will work with whatever you have.
Both options exist. The iPhone Tour and the Photo Tuition Walk both put the camera in your hands. The Combined Highlights + Photo Walk is the only format where we shoot for you, and it is documentary coverage of your group during the walk (lanes, river light, candid moments), not posed portraits.
Only the Combined Highlights + Photo Walk includes a delivered gallery. You get a gallery of around fifteen high-resolution edited images within seven days, documentary coverage of your group during the walk. Private download link, no watermarks, full sharing rights. The iPhone Tour and Photo Tuition Walk are about teaching you to take your own photos; no gallery is delivered for those.
Most spots work best in golden hour, late afternoon in summer. Trinity Lane and the Eagle pub interior are better on overcast days. We adapt the route to the light on the day. For dawn photography we can also run early-morning sessions on request.
Yes. Every tour runs in French at the same price. Jean-Luc Benazet is a native French speaker with 27 years in Cambridge. Useful for francophone families, French tour operators, and language school cultural days.
Yes. All three formats are private. Just your group and the photographer. Group size from two to twenty-five. For groups above ten on a Tuition Walk we usually split into two parallel groups so everyone gets real time with the camera and a guide.
A 30% non-refundable deposit secures the booking, with the balance due seven days before the session. Cancellation more than 14 days before: deposit only. 7 to 14 days: 50% of the total. Within 7 days: 100%. We never cancel for light rain (often great light); we reschedule only for severe weather warnings.
