Cambridge Art — Prints, Posters & Postcards by a Local Photographer

Fine art photography prints, vintage Cambridge travel posters, and postcards — all made to order by Jean-Luc Benazet, a Cambridge-based professional photographer with 27 years behind the lens in this city. No Etsy. No middleman. Order direct.

Every image in this collection was taken on the streets of Cambridge — at dawn before the tourists arrive, at dusk when the stone turns gold, or in the quiet winter mornings when the city belongs entirely to the people who live in it. Jean-Luc Benazet has been photographing Cambridge professionally for 27 years. These prints are the result.

All prints and posters are produced to order using Gelato — professional print-on-demand services with archival paper and pigment ink standards that meet museum requirements. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Every print is made fresh when you order it, checked before it ships, and packaged carefully for its journey to you.

🎨  Vintage Cambridge Travel Posters

Made to order · A3, A2, and A1 · Limited editions numbered and signed

There was a golden age of travel poster design — the 1920s and 1930s, when railway companies commissioned artists to make the English countryside look as romantic as it actually was. Cambridge featured prominently. Punt on the Cam. Bicycle past the colleges. Come and think great thoughts.

This collection is a love letter to that era. Each design begins as an original photograph taken in Cambridge — Senate House at midday, St John’s at the water’s edge, King’s College Back Gate in early morning light, the Mathematical Bridge in summer, Garrett Hostel Lane in snow. The image is then transformed through illustration technique, hand-touched colour palettes, retro typography, and authentic paper-grain texture into something that feels discovered rather than designed.

Printed on museum-grade acid-free stock in archival inks. Available in A3, A2, and A1. Limited-edition runs are individually numbered and signed on the reverse by the photographer.

📌  These are NOT antique or vintage prints. They are contemporary works designed to evoke the vintage travel poster aesthetic, printed on demand from original Cambridge photography. This is stated clearly on the page and in all order confirmations.

📷  Fine Art Photography Prints

Made to order · A4 to A1 · Archival paper · Pigment inks rated 100+ years

These are straight photographs — no illustration, no stylisation. Cambridge as it actually looks when a professional photographer with 27 years of local knowledge is standing in exactly the right place at exactly the right time.

King’s College Chapel at dusk, when the floodlights have just come on and the sky still holds the last blue of the day. Magdalene College in the early morning before anyone is about. St John’s Kitchen Bridge reflected perfectly in the Cam on a windless autumn morning. Emmanuel College in full summer. The cloister that most visitors walk past without noticing.

Every print is produced on museum-grade, acid-free archival paper with pigment inks rated to last over 100 years without fading. An optional white border is available on all sizes for easy framing — the print arrives ready to hang.
