The Bespoke Cambridge Tour
A walk built around you. You tell me what you are curious about, how long you have and how fast you like to move, and I plan the route to match. English or French.
What “bespoke” actually means here
Most tours hand you a fixed route and you fit yourself around it. This one works the other way. We start with what you want, then I build the walk.
That might be the Essential or the Full Highlights walk with a few stops added. It might be something else entirely. I have lived in Cambridge for 27 years and I guide it for a living, so I can take you well past the obvious.
A bespoke walk usually starts with a short message or call. You tell me the shape of the day and I send back a suggested route, a length and a price. Nothing is fixed until you are happy with it.
A few ways people use it
- More time, fewer crowds. The same landmarks as the Highlights walk, but early or late, when the streets are quiet and the light is better.
- A theme. The river and the bridges. The architecture. The science and the people behind it. Tell me the thread and I will follow it.
- A particular college or corner. Somewhere you read about, somewhere a relative studied, somewhere you saw in a film.
- A walk plus a photographer. I also run Cambridge Photographers, so a bespoke walk can include professional photos of you in the city, delivered afterwards in a gallery.
- A special occasion. A proposal, an anniversary, a graduation visit, a family reunion. Tell me the occasion and I will plan around it.
- A different language. The whole walk runs in French at no extra cost.
How it works
- Tell me the shape of the day. Send a message with roughly how long you have, what you are drawn to and how many of you there are.
- I send a plan. A suggested route, a length and a price. We adjust it until it fits.
- We walk it. Private, at your pace, in English or French.
Pricing
Bespoke walks are priced on the day you want, the length and the size of your group. The Highlights walk starts from £160 per group for 90 minutes, and a bespoke walk is built out from there. Tell me what you have in mind and I will send a price.

A note on college access
As with all my walks, a bespoke tour follows public streets, paths and riverside routes. If you would like to go inside a particular college, I will tell you honestly whether it is open to visitors, what it costs and whether it is worth it on the day.

The more notice the better, especially in summer and around graduation. A week or two is comfortable. For short notice, message me and I will tell you honestly what is possible.
